How It Started
POPpadum was started by Shreyas Nawkar in December 2020. Shreyas is a Red Seal Certified chef with over a decade of experience in the Canadian restaurant industry. When he was laid off during the pandemic, he finally had the time to bring his vision to life—sharing Indian food in a way that went beyond cheap takeout, and celebrating its fun, variety, techniques, and vibrancy.

Growing the Journey
What began as a pop-up, operating out of rental kitchen spaces has grown into something more. With a second location opening soon in Burlington, POPpadum is becoming more than just a restaurant. It’s on its way to becoming a community of flavours—bringing people together through food, one city at a time.
